These small landscapes of Exmoor were painted plein air, and in all weathers. I'm sure the cold makes for a more immediate language, capturing not just the view, but the smells, the weather, and the feel of a place. They are painted on 7mil ply 9cm x 13cm and were painted to be small contemplative landscapes following in the tradition of the Icon. They were displayed with small cream wool bags. Paintings that were designed to be handled (just as the artist did to create it) and carried around. An intimate piece of Exmoor.
