The Bay Laurel and the Pear Tree

The ancient wild pear tree that grew out of the yew hedge in front of the house was blown over in December.  I'll miss its frilly leaves and giant bunch of branches.  This year, the empty space waits patiently for it's new beginning.  Already so much has changed since I started visiting Dixter, reminding me that nature cannot be held still and a garden waits for no man.
